Well today was Charlotte's first day in reception class at Matthew Arnold.
It seemed just like another normal day this morning at home, Thomas was getting a shower ten minutes before he has to leave for the bus, after 30 minutes of prompting Christopher finally dragged himself out of bed and Charlotte was dancing along with CBeebies favourite Boogie Beebies.
Only today wasn't a normal day at all, because today Charlotte was dancing in front of the television wearing her pristine school uniform for the first time - a significant landmark in her life.
After taking the boys to school for their first day you'd think on the third occasion things would be a little boring. Not so, as soon as we walked through the school gates we were first greeted with Charlotte's nursery teachers waving to Charlotte from the window.
Then as we continued to the classroom random parents and children were gasping and gushing at her in her little blouse and skirt, they all knew her name (we should have called her Norm!) whilst Vicky and I smiled politely.
Waiting outside were Vicky's mum and dad who came along to see their grand daughter in all her splendour, and then once in the classroom more mum's commenting and on Charlotte - one bizarrely wanted to 'eat her all up!'.

Taken this morning, the photo above serves as a reminder of the early months in Charlotte's life when we were told of her Down's, the fears we had, the uncertaincies of what to expect and the really fearful times we all had when she undertook open heart surgery.
This photo is posted as a thank you to the following: Alder Hey Children's Hospital ward K2, the ICU unit and her many consultants, MAPS nursery, Matthew Arnold School, DSL, and not forgetting both our parents, brothers, sisters, family and friends.
