Katie's sponsored silence and walk

Posted by Thomas Regan on May 3, 2007 10:41 AM |

Had a phone call yesterday from my aunt. Her daughter Katie, 12, has organised a sponsored silence and a sponsored walk of her own accord with all monies raised going to Down Syndrome LIVERPOOL.

She's even made her own sponsor forms and has up to now raised over £60!

She has encouraged some of her year 7 school friends to join in the silence too - this will take place at her school, Childwall Sports College on Tuesday.

Katie insists the sponsored silence will be for 24 hours - I'd love to see that!

The walk is taking place this weekend at Northway Park, weather permitting. She will be walking 30 times around the park. I will take Charlotte and maybe she can join in for a bit which will be nice.

I am delighted that Katie has done this, she says it's 'for our Charlotte'. Her parents John and Jan should feel very proud of her.
