Undecided, make your mind up
There she goes, then she goes
Everyone knows she goes.
So Charlotte will be starting mainstream school in September.
We always wanted her to go to mainstream, no doubt. I hate the term 'special school' anyway. Every child is special aren't they?
The only decision we had to make was whether she went to the school associated with her nursery or to the same primary school as her two brothers. I wanted the latter, but it makes more sense to keep her with the people she knows. Everyone knows Charlotte.
Charlotte joined her nursery at an early age, we were lucky as the staff there were so good with her, yes she needed a little more attention than the other kids, but she has progressed better than we could have hoped.
Along with her speech therapist and nursery staff, Charlotte has been learning Makaton, the staff even involved the other children in signing.
Charlotte's attending nursery has brought on her talking - she doesn't stop, motor skills - she's not long been walking, and now she's jumping into her low chair from the back head first! and her stubborn attitude - in her genes (mum)!
She has made huge progress in her time at MAPS largely down to the fantastic nursery staff that work with her, and I'm sure she will continue to do so when she goes over the road to 'big' school.
