This Thursday sees Vicky and I embark on our first full year as committee members of Down Syndrome Liverpool. Our first meeting of the year should see us outline the plans and aims of the charity we became members of last October.
For us personally it will be a year of hard work, coupled with expectation and excitement as we re-plan 'Lotties Family Fun Day'. A day which due to unforseen circumstances was postponed last summer, although we did manage to salvage the Race Night and raise an astonishing £3000.
Being the web designer for Down Syndrome Liverpool I have been working to establish ourselves on the internet. Until late last year DSL never had their own site, I must say though designing and maintaining the site has been both rewarding and challenging.
Hopefully we are getting there now, not only with the web but also the print side. Recently we
undertook new branding, I freshened up the logo and colours as well as proposing an overhaul of our newsletter.
Our new-look edition will be out soon hopefully! Our website is http://www.downsyndromeliverpool.org.uk
Not only is it the beginning of a new year for DSL commitments, next week sees Vicky and I's first Alder Hey visit of 2007. Our three year old daughter Charlotte has an appointment with the dreaded feeding clinic.
She's never ate a thing in her short life and whilst they are always helpful, a feeding clinic visit is daunting.
I'll have to negotiate some time off from work as Vicky never feels comfortable with the various panel of specialists facing her.
I hope you have found my first blog interesting. Thanks.
